Due to scheduling conflicts, I was basically cut down from a total of 6 APs before senior year to 4. I got 5s on all of the tests, but am still stuck at AP Scholar with Honor; if my school was better at organization and budget management, I could easily have gotten AP Scholar with Distinction. I took equally weighted honors courses and community college courses to make up for the lost APs, but I could not take the test.

Some of my friends lucked out and were able to get all the APs they wanted. They were thus able to get the Distinction award, putting me in a bad light.

I am taking 4-5 APs next year (we'll see how epically my school can fail this year) as a senior, and am expecting to get 4s-5s on all of them. But that's AFTER the fact of applications/admissions.

Did I basically waste my time with the honors classes (weighted equally into GPA though)? Should I have been more Machiavellian and permutated my past schedules to give me 5+ APs no matter what (would have meant dropping band, a major extracurricular commitment and dropping more challengeing AP course like Chem and Language for joke ones, like Environmental and Psych)?

I'm feeling quite insecure about this right now....
