^ AP Physics is a lot more intense than AP Chem from my experience. Both have the math involved but AP Physics requires a lot more critical thinking and problem solving.

to abercrobieindy: Yes, it only requires 2 classes this semester, and 2 more classes next year when it comes to the preparation for the AP exam. So you are right in saying that together they both take up 4 classes.

To Chris: Although, I am not COMPLETELY horrible at math, I don't think I am that great either. However, I will try not to be discouraged at this point without even trying my hand in it :) Although, I must say that it is good I have been warned beforehand so I am not too shocked when I approach the curriculum.

craze200, I admit your VERY brave but I had the same attitude going into AP Physics. NOT FUN.

You think you won't be shocked but you will be shocked...By how advanced the concepts are to grasp and how difficult it is to understand what is going on.

If it were me, I would ditch the "macho" man attitude and not take Physics. :) No offence. I am just suggesting.

What exactly do you study in AP Physics? I'm hoping to take it next year

Wait, if you're taking these courses over two years, then it really shouldn't be a problem I don't think, especially since you've already done really well in previous courses.

Also, homework depends a lot on school - some days, I didn't even do anything for my AP science classes when I took both Bio and Chem, since homework in Bio was just reading and I would read along during the lectures, and the homework in Chem wasn't required, so I only did it if I was having trouble understanding everything and stuff. And the max was usually just an hour or maybe an hour and a half to study if I had tests in both classes the next day or something.

Hey, I'm taking AP Chem and AP Physics next year too! I've already done Calculus, but I decided to take Physics B because everyone who takes C pretty much dies.

AP Chem is a lot of work, but not too hard. I disagree about reading the textbook for this one. The AP Chem teacher here doesn't even use a textbook! By law he has to assign one, but they might use it twice a year. Chem is more about practicing the problems and becoming accustomed to them.

AP Physics is impossible! I hope you're signed up for B. My friend always said that Physics C was like suicide but B was just like self-injury. Try to understand concepts as soon as you learn them, because if you get behind, it'll be impossible to catch u[. Comprehension takes a certain amount of time and that's what physics is about: conceptualization.
