AP Score Cancellation

I have a question about score cancellation. If I request to cancel one of my AP scores, does that mean my exam booklet is just thrown away and not scored? Or do they still look at my exam, score it, and just not tell me? One of my AP exams I completely had a mental lapse on and I’d prefer them not to see any of my answers out of sheer embarrassment.

I believe that the form says the exam is not scored-I’m assuming they may archive the physical exam itself, but the scantron is never run and FRQs are simply never scored. That’s my understanding

Yeah, I checked the form and it said “your exam will not be scored.” Does that mean that they grade it and just don’t attach a score to it or does it mean they do nothing with it completely? As I said, I really don’t want my MC test to be even run or for my FRQs to be looked at lol

I’ve actually also heard a rumor that the school shreds the exam before it’s even mailed out to the College Board. Need verification for this though

Not true.

The latter.

Thank you so much. I’m glad that my MC won’t be run hahaha @skieurope

Thanks for dispelling that rumor @skieurope.

What happens to the tests then? Does College Board just throw them out? Or are they vaguely archived for the future?

@nickb14 idk. I assume they’re stored for some period of time.
