When do I need to submit my AP scores to schools by?

I assume you are still in high school and likely will be applying to college in the Fall for entry into Fall 2014. You don’t have to send any scores until near the time you apply for admission to a college. Even then you need not send AP scores. No college requires official AP scores for admission. When you do apply to colleges, and if you want them to know your AP scores, then you can self-report them in the application, your essay, or send photocopies of scores to the admissions office with a letter identifying you as an applicant and your address and high school. Official AP scores are not needed until after you have been admitted to a college and you want college credit for the course.

Exception to the above is that there are a few colleges that accept AP scores in lieu of any other tests for admission or in lieu of SAT subject tests and if you choose to go that route with that college you will need to send official AP scores to it (example: NYU accepts three AP tests for admission and you can send those rather than sending any SATs, SAT subject tests, or ACTs).
