Sorry if this question has been asked already..
but
Do colleges place a lot of weight on your AP scores?
and
Can you by some way not show them your AP scores if they're bad?
and
If you don't show them your scores yet take an AP class, will they suspect that you did badly because you didn't report score?

(i'm talking about college admissions only)

First question, colleges do NOT place much weight on how well you did on the AP tests unless there is some attached story [self-taught, etc.]. Second question, the scores don't have to be sent, I didn't bother sending mine since I only had one grade [plus a teacher of mine referred to my grade in his rec], plus I think you actually have to pay to send the scores anyway so it's def less weight on your wallet. Third question, hmmm that one is tough, I mean I didn't send mine in an official report and I got an A in my chem class, but then again they did know my score nonetheless so that's a tough one to call, but in general I'll stick to my answer for the first question in that schools don't heavily weigh ap grades.

from what i heard, good test scores somewhat help especially if you independent studied. bad test scores dont hurt but you dont have to send them in.
however, they cant give a large advantage to people took ap exams cause many schools do not have AP (they may have IB,MYP, Magnet, some what program, or no advanced program) and they dont want to give you an advantage over them cause you took an AP exam that they did not have an opportunity to take..
