Ap scores on college gpa

I'm going to be heading to university next year, and am a bit worried for all the ap's i've taken. So far I've done language(3) apush(3) and going to be doing envi sci(projected 4) stats(??) lit(projected 3) and government(projected 3). i'm going to start studying for these right now, so there's no way i could get 5's...-_- Also, I'm going to try to enroll in UCSB's honors program, which requires a 3.6 minimum. So if I send them my ap scores and get college credit, will I end up with a terrible gpa to start off with?

thanks :)

AP scores do not factor into a college GPA. They just give you college credit if you meet the score minimum.

Ok, thanks.

But again, every school has individual policies so you should contact your prospective schools first.

AP scores are for credit only. Your GPA may be lower if you start off in harder classes because you were able to skip easier ones with AP credits. But other than that, AP grades won’t hurt you, they can only help you if you pass high enough.
