I've started to seriously doubt my ability to score higher than a 3 in any of my AP tests. I'm an A/B student in class, but when I do practice tests I fail miserably..what am I doing wrong?

Did you study from the released exams? They actually help A LOT. Study from those and review the topics you got wrong on those tests and review them from your prep book and/or textbook. Obviously, if you start to study now, you will be better prepared for the exam so start as early as you can and you won’t feel pressured when May comes around. Good luck!

it’d help if you told us what AP class(es) you’re taking, but quite honestly i was on the same boat as you last year. i’m an A student for the most part (get like 1 or 2 b’s occasionally) and i took the AP US history, AP chem, and AP lang tests last year. im not a history person and never paid attention in class, studied for the exam like 2 days before (stupidest mistake ever like who does that) and ended up getting a 3 on the exam. as for chem, it was a HARD class and i failed almost every test that we got, but ended up getting a 4. if you really put your mind to it and work your ass off you can def get at least a 3. i studied for the AP chem exam day and night and thats the only reason why i got a 4, because chem was never my strong subject either.

you seem pretty smart, so i’m sure you’ll be fine. you still have a long way to go. just pay attention in class, make an effort to comprehend the material, and study hardcore by the time march/april rolls around.

Well remember, to get a 3, you roughly only need 50% correct on the whole test.

Today I took a practice AP Lang multiple choice test and got 60%…which is a 3 when the math is done…so I just don’t know

Yeah, I got a 3 on two I took last year and failed the other one. I think because 2 out of 3 of my teachers rushed a lot of the things the students needed to learn and tried to get us to cram study at the end. I know it is the responsibility of the student to study, but I suggest working with your teachers as well and letting them know what you need help on, and asking questions.
And as already mentioned, start studying way before hand and practice from released exams. I made the mistake of not doing that.
