AP Scores

This is just a warning for everyone:

I had read all of the info the Princeton gave us (both online and by snail mail) about AP scores and how we needed to have a cumulative report sent to them. Well, I assumed that since I wrote "Princeton" on my score sheet for this year's tests, they would be receiving a score report with all of my scores, including this year's and last year's (the only 2 years I took AP exams). However, just to be sure that Princeton had received my scores electronically, I called AP Services.

The nice man on the phone told me that Princeton was listed as my recipient school, but only on this year's tests; Princeton would not receive a cumulative report because I had not put it down on last year's tests (well...of course not!:)). Unlike the SATs & SAT IIs, AP score reports are apparently not cumulative, just year-by-year; I had assumed that they were cumulative. This assumption was wrong, and I had to pay $15 to send a 2006 & 2007 score report to Princeton, which should arrive within 5 business days - no biggie.

Am I the only one who assumed what I assumed? And I imagine I am not the only one who would rather die than give the College Boad more money!!! ;)

I just thought I should put this out there in case any of you made the same mistake I did.

This link says otherwise...

AP Grade Reports are sent in July to the college you designated on your answer sheet, to you, and to your high school. Each report is cumulative and includes grades for all the AP Exams you have ever taken, unless you have requested that one or more grades be withheld from a college or canceled.

can someone confirm?

Princeton will mail something to you at the beginning of the year specifying which AP scores they have received and which ones they can give you advanced standing credit for.

OK, so, ignore everything I said. I was looking at the Student Pack again, and noticed the exact words that gxing quoted. I called AP Services back and they said that "the score report had been mailed and I could not get my money back." Obviously, it's not just the $15 but the principle of the matter.

I apologize to anyone who followed my advice and plan to think of this as just another reason to hate the College Board! ;)

So if we put down Princeton on our exams, will they get the scores??

yup - sorry for the confusion
