AP Scores

do ap scores matter for admissions to top colleges...like the ivies

or are they only really used for placement

like can i just not report any scores and still have a good shot at ivies based on all other scores like SAT, ACT, etc

Even the most selective schools say they don't care what the AP score is. They just care that you took the class.

This has been asked a million times. There's even a huge discussion on it, and it's one of the 'featured discussions' at the top of the page.

man...... people get 5's on 20 AP's yet they always ask this question...

but say i have all the grades ecs that ivies require but my ap scores are bad, will leaving the "ap scores" section blank hurt me

im going to be a senior and say i have taken 5 exams but do not wish to report any.......will that be bad in terms of admissions to top schools

At the combined Harvard/Georgetown/Duke/Penn reception, we were told in no uncertain terms that they DO NOT CARE about AP exam scores. ALL they care about is that you took the class.

And the question was asked about taking classes at community college instead of an AP if the teacher was bad for the AP. They all said to take the AP, even if the teacher is bad. Go figure.
