AP Scores

I'm going to be a freshman at SEAS this year and I had a question about AP scores.

I haven't sent mine to Columbia yet and I was just wondering if it was imperative that the school have my scores before I register for the classes that require them (Calc. 3, accelerated physics, etc).

Thanks

Don’t worry. I asked somethign similar at the summer orientation. You only start getting AP credit after freshman year or something like that… so you don’t really need to send in AP scores until much later. Also, since you want to take accelerated physics you need a 5 on Calc and Physics. I’m sure as long as you bring the hardcopy of your AP score sheet and show it to your counselor/professor he/she will accept that as proof and let you take the class, since there are people who don’t pass the placement exams/don’t have the right scores who can still take the class through talking with the professors.

Edit: as for calculus III or any math class… my counselor said they’re all recommendations since there isn’t a math placement exam during orientation. good luck

Actually, there is a math exam now for calculus placement for SEAS students (not sure if CC has to take it as well… I got the email and it only mentions SEAS students). But this is only if you didn’t take the AP exam.
