AP self study (physics or stats)

hello.
Which AP tests do you recommend for self studying?
i have very limited time till beginning/ middle of march for some reasons. would 2 hour a week from now on and 1 hour a day from march be sufficient for one or two of these tests?
i hav a physics class now and great foundation in math.
generally how much did it take you/or someone you know to self study these subjects?
answers will be appreciated.

Hmmm... well, I've known people who studied stats in a day and gotten 5s, although these people tend to be extremely intelligent. Regardless, it's a simple test, and your proposed schedule (2 hours a week and then 1 hour a day from march) would easily be enough.

There are two AP Physics tests: B and C. B is a broader but less rigorous survey course, while C is slightly more rigorous but focused solely on two sections - mechanics and electricity & magnetism. The better you are at math, the easier C will seem in comparison to B. In particular, C should be quite simple for anyone who's taken multivariable calculus (not like that's a requirement, though). I took the Physics B class offered at my high school my sophomore year, then took both sections of the Physics C test as a junior.

Honestly, my studying for C consisted of about 30 minutes of cramming in the lunch break between bio and physics - I had bought a study guide the night before. This was only possible because of my math background, but the E&M section was an interesting challenge with so little preparation. I got 5s on both - if you have a good foundation in math, you could do the same.

I honestly find it hard to believe that it is possible to get a 5 on the Stats exam after studying one day. It is easy, but not too easy. There is much to be covered--a week of studying can definitely yield a 5, but a day, I think, is definitely an exaggeration (cases in which people have no background of statistics at all).

which way do you recommend studying.
should i just buy the study guide and study that only?
or should i borrow those big text books from library and read it over?

are you allowed to take both physics B and physics C mechanics tests in the same year? (i know they are at the same time, but I would take C during the late testing)

fl02,

I think a Barron's AP Prep book will be enough for the stats exam.

I however cannot attest to that, because I took a full year of course--the book does, however, consist of everything you need to know for the exam.
