AP Self-Study questions

Alright, so I was planning on self-studying AP Environmental and AP Stat at some point, and taking the exam when they’re given… I have a few questions, though.

  1. How does self-studying look to colleges? Will they not care, will they not see it, will it catch their eye?

  2. Will it benefit me much? (Goes with question 1.)

  3. Are AP Environmental and AP Stat good self-study courses? I was thinking about studying Environmental this year since I’m taking Bio as well, but i’m taking three other AP courses.

Thanks for the help.

1/ They won’t care.

2/ If you have an interest in learning the material, sure. If you can get college credit, yes. That’s about the only benefits I can see.

3/ Well, they are both fairly easy to self study. The flip side is that colleges know that they are easy to self study, so may not give credit. As a general rule, if the school offers the class, you’re better off all around taking the class.
