AP Spanish Test score is a 5 but it says media portion not scorable - will this be an issue?

My D19 got a 5 on her AP Spanish Test but it says score was projected because media portion was not scoreable. Maybe there was an issue with the recording? She would like to place out of language in college if possible - depending on where she ends up. But will colleges not accept this score because of the media issue? So frustrating.

There will be no issue with colleges.

AFAIK, colleges only see the score, note the accompanying irregularity code, which I believe is 38 in this case. It’s rare, but does happen, and the CB, as it did in this case, will generally assign a total score on the parts that were able to be scored.

Thank you for your reply. That would be great if they just see the “5” and not the note – yes, it is code 38 - media not scorable it says. I would think she would’ve still gotten a 5 with the recording portion!

Probably; the recording is only about 20% of the total anyway.

Even if “they” do see the note (and I don’t think that to be the case, keep in mind that the “they” in question is a clerical imputing/verifying data in the registrar’s office.

I actually just spoke with the College Board and the colleges will see the flag saying that the recording portion was not scorable.

Thanks for the update.
