What is this exam like and how do you prepare for it?

I mean both comp and lit exam. Does AP Spanish really ask you to read and compare works of lit? How can you get a 5 on that? O_O Without being a native speaker!

bump! I'm trying to read the works on the required reading list, but it's so tough since I'm not a native speaker. Does anyone know of any study guides out there that are like sparknotes for spanish literature?

My AP Spanish class is very test-prep intensive. There are two oral parts, where you describe a series of pictures, and answer prompts in Spanish. There is also a multiple choice section, and a free-response section. I am not in the Spanish literature AP class. Our teacher recommended that we purchase the Barron's version of the AP Spanish prep book because it includes a few very good audio cds.

There are two different AP Spanish exams: AP Spanish Language and AP Spanish Literature.

Spanish Lit does require you to read/compare works of literature. Spanish Language does NOT. You do not need to read the great Latin American/Spanish canon or anything in order to do well on it. It would improve your reading skills considerably, I'm sure, but there are no questions on it.
