AP Stat. or Organic Chemistry?

I have to decide whether to take AP Stat. or Hon. Organic Chemistry next year, and I have absolutely no idea what to do.
My schedule as it stands:
- AP Calc. BC
- AP Lit.
- AP Drawing
- AP Chemistry
- Hon. Physics
- Hon. Econ./Personal Finance (Required)
- Hon. U.S. History

My main concern is how difficult it might be. I've never had trouble in math before, but I'm not sure how much of a workload it would be on top of AP Calc., or on top of all the other APs I'm taking. If I don't take it next year I won't take it at all--I already have two math classes lined up for Senior year, and I don't think adding a third would be the best idea.

Stats is generally considered an easier math class.

ORGANIC CHEMISTRY??! If it’s anything like the college course then prepare your mind because it’s going to be difficult. I heard it’s like learning a foreign language and it’s hard to keep things intact conceptually; nothing like regular chemistry. I would say take Ochem because it’s pretty cool and I think you’ll enjoy a challenge.

It depends if you want a challenge or not. Organic Chem is hard. AP Stats is not that hard.

Organic Chem- Challenge
AP Stats- Regular Class

Wait, you are taking AP Chem, right? It will fit perfectly then if you take Organic Chem.

Does your school have a good chem lab? Just in my opinion, it’s hard to appreciate Organic Chem without lab work - like 3 to 5 hour lab sessions.
Are you going to take a Chem related major in college? If so, the honors org chem might help prepare you, but expect to have to take it again - it’s not something you can usually place out of.

@scholarme I’m not sure; I know we have lab equipment in all of the science classrooms, but I don’t necessarily know how many labs we would do. And yes, I’m looking at either Chem. or Physics as a major/career path.

I should probably also note that I’m actually taking AP Physics, not Honors Physics.

Take AP stat. Organic chemistry will be very difficult taken concurrently with AP chem, since it really follows it in succession.

Orgo will help you in the end. I self-studied it this year and found it easy. I don’t know, it was just fascinating as hell and I LOVE science. Gotta say I am more of a physics fan though. But if you are considering AP Chemistry, then by all means drop Orgo. You will briefly go over Orgo in AP Chem. You need a refresher in general rules that are imperative for you to know in order to succeed in Orgo. Make sure you really, and I mean REALLY, understand chem before delving much deeper into it. Go for stats. It is generally easier and a data and analysis course is great to take! Good luck!! :)
