<p>So we're choosing classes for next year pretty soon and I've hit a dilemma. I can't choose between AP Chem and AP Stat. Here's how my schedule will look if there are no conflicts:
AP Bio
AP Calc AB
AP English
AP Government
AP Micronomics
Latin IV H
Gym (required)
Health (required)</p>
<p>And I'm thinking to either take AP Chem or AP stat. I want to take Chem because science (particularly biology) is a field that I'd like to study in college, but it will be a lot of work. I want to take Stat because at my school, stat is pretty easy. I've heard that the stat teacher also gives a ton of homework, but probably not as much as the chem teacher. Anyone have any advise for me? (No, I do not want to take BOTH :p)</p>
<p>With your schedule as it is, it is more reasonable to take AP statistics. I tried to take AP chemistry and AP physics B together and it was too much for me. AP chemistry is hard, but it will look better to colleges (AP stats is easy) so if you can handle it and are interested in it go for AP Chem</p>
<p>I would recommend AP Chem if you haven’t already taken a chem class and if you think you’d be able to handle the courseload. I am currently in IB Bio and IB Chem and I have really enjoyed it (I want to go into medicine). A lot of kids in my Bio class took up honors chem their senior year because our Bio teacher told us that some of the kids who graduated before us could not get into the pre-med programs they wanted because they hadn’t taken Chem. I’m not sure how many college pre-med programs have that requirement, but it’s definitely something ot look into if you want to go into medicine (which I’m assuming since you want to major in bio).</p>
<p>If you’re interested in AP Chem, you should take it. It will definitely help you during college. I’m taking AP Chem and Calc-based Physics right now. It’s difficult, but I think you can survive.</p>
<p>Well i’m taking honors chem and honors physics right now and it’s really not bad. My chem teacher is reeaaally slow though so it doesn’t feel like an honors class at all. I also talked to her today and she recommended me to take stat instead</p>
