I just found out that AP Statistics and AP Bio are the same period so I cannot take both of them my senior year... I'm really frustrated because now I will have less APs on my transcripts. By the end of next year I will have taken:

AP World History
AP US History
AP English Language
AP Chemistry
AP Physics
AP Calculus BC
AP Government
AP Economics
AP English Literature

And now either AP Statistics or AP Biology. Which one do you think would look better for college? I honestly don't know what I want to do major-wise in college. Possible Poli Sci and then go to med school....

AP Bio - [ul]

[] Will probably help a lot in college since I will have to fufill a lot of science requirements for med school
[] Not a very good teacher... I had him for regular Biology. I will likely have to study very hard on my own to make a 4/5 on the AP test [/ul]

AP Statistics - [ul]

[] May not look as good as a science class?
[] Amazing, brilliant teacher. I will have him for Calculus as well.
[li] I've spoken to many students who have taken this class and are in college now. Most of them at University of Texas - Austin had to take Stat to fulfill freshman requirements... everyone I've spoken to said the class was an absolute breeze after taking the AP class. [/ul]
[/li]

I really don't know what to do. And also, now that I will have an extra spot in my schedule, which other class should I take? I have already taken all my school's APs except for foreign language... but I don't want to take that Senior year because Spanish AP at our school is known to be brutal. There is a College Algebra/Trig class that is offered as a dual credit class... would that look bad? Should I try to take a class at a local community college in math? Please help me...

Don't worry about looking good--the point is that you take something that you want and challenge yourself. If you want to go to med school, having a background in biology is good though. I'm also not sure why you don't want to take AP Spanish. Because it's difficult? I mean, what kind of reason is that? If you don't want to take a class because it's difficult, I don't know how much fun you'll have in college! But it's a different matter if you think that it will be too much to handle--that's a legitimate reason. Also, are you sure the College Algebra/Trig class is harder than BC Calc? I mean, I'm sure that will probably be basic algebra/trig that you already know. Then what's the point of taking it if you already know the stuff?

Are you interested in taking the community college class? If you are, then go ahead! I mean, it's kind of silly to me, why you're asking whether you should take a class or not. If you want to, go ahead, and if you don't, then don't.

The idea is that you like to learn and that you like to challenge yourself, don't you? Then that's fine, and you don't have to worry about "looking good." Too many people here are worried about looking good.

I don't want to take spanish 4 not just because it's hard... it's just that I'm going to be taking a number of other challenging classes, and I won't be able to dedicate the 1-2 hours per night that spanish 4 will require. True, the other classes I'm taking are going to give a lot of homework, but I like Physics and math more than Spanish... and I'm really not good at it.

If you already had a regular or honors bio class, I would suggest the AP stats class because you say you really like the teacher. I think AP Bio is a more challenging class but your transcript is full of challenging classes.
