I'm currently signed up to do an independent study for my second half of senior year. I currently have 2 other APs (or 4, since it's AP Econ and AP Gov) on schedule. My counselor was encouraging me to do an Independent Study and I do think I could do it (not positive though), but it's only half a year and I don't know how seriously it would be taken. I also feel that I could just as easily do an independent study on my own time. At the same time, my counselor said that he would be able to put that on my rec and he'd make that part of it really, really good. Any insight?

Please .

Do it. It'll be worth it.

AP Stats is not a hard exam and if you're strength is in math, go for it!

AP Stats is super easy.

Doesn't matter. I'd say roll the dice.

i thought that ap stats would be an impossible exam when I got in the class, since everybody failed it last year and canceled their scores. I thought it would be the hardest class ever. But actually, when I put forth some effort, it was pretty easy. It just takes a little memorization, mostly practice, and a LOT of common sense. Everything justs fits in. Its almost philosophical and business-like. I pretty much self-directed myself. I got a 4.

I'm not too worried about the exam. I'm very confident that I can get an A in the class (math is my strength) and I need the boost to my gpa. At the same time my counselor said an independent study could look good, but my thoughts are that I can easily do an independent study on my own. Does having independent study on your schedule look particularly good?
