Has anyone taken this yet? My school isnt going to offer physics c next year so I was thinking about doing AP Calc and Stat. Is it difficult or what?

dude...it's not hard at all...i wouldn't consider it a "true" math course, it's more reasoning logic, and u just use math as a tool

it's more of a know when to use what thing

not hard at all (even though i have a B- in the class, i'm pretty sure i'm getting at least a 4, if not a 5)

Stats is a great course, but only requires an intimate knowledge of algebra 1. Many kids at our HS doubled with Stat-PreCalc Jr year or Stat-Calc senior year, so definitely doable.

I loved statistics. It really isn't a math course at all, a middle schooler could do the math involved, but IMO it's a great course to take. Not hard either.

I took BC and stats concurrently, no problem at all.

I'm taking it next year. So that says a lot about how easy the course is haha. I'm taking it concurrently with Honors Precalc (because I suck at math, like I said before) and I've heard it's been pretty easy to juggle that and the same for Calc BC and Stats combo.

The course is easy, but it left me entirely unprepared for the AP test. I hope I got a 3

Can one self-study it and pass with a 3 or higher? I'm doing Calc BC next year but might want to do it at the same time and rub it into the Stats students face (who think they're so cool). :P

For me...it wasn't the math that was hard about the course. What was hard was the problem solving...my teacher made it hard to understand (and didn't teacher), so it was difficult for me when I had to take the AP test.

I self-studied it junior year and it went better than the Calculus BC exam... hahah (5s on both though).

If you're a rising senior, there's really no reason to... very few schools give credit for statistics.

I have a nine-day self-study plan for stats - provided you've taken math through trig with As a Bs. E-mail me if you're interested (cag51@pitt.edu)

Just to reaffirm what others have said...the course is easy at most schools and the math you need to know is acutally quite simple. Self-studying is definitely feasible; however, keep in mind that this year's multiple choice questions were totally different from any practice tests out there and took much more careful consideration than in previous years. The actual material is useful to know...makes it easier to realize when studies are BSed and you definitely use it for science projects and stuff. I took it concurrently with precalc as a sophomore and made a five...
