AP statistics!

I am confused about this. Please only answer if you are good at AP Statistics.
A political scientist believes that there is a gender gap in American voting with women more likely to vote for Democrats. She interviews a random sample of voters and records their genders and political party of the candidate whom they voted for in the last election. Identify the following variables

Quantitive: ?
Categorical:
Explanatory: I think is gender
Response: might be the political party

And also, is this relationship a causation, common response, or confounding??

Thank you!

They are asking if this problem is categorical OR quantitative. Since no hw questions are allowed, I can't answer. But this is a pretty simple question, so if I were you I would definitely ask the teacher for help.

It can;t be both Quantitative and Categorical. Gender is categorical, and i would say it is confounding.

They're both categorical variables and probably common response (say, if lower salaries skew the data toward showing more women to a certain party)
