I am debating on wether or not to take AP stats or not my sophomore year of high school. I don’t want to be over whelmed with this class and my other advanced class while still doing a sport and clubs. Is this class very time consuming? How hard is it? Is the AP exam difficult? Please help me out i have 1 week to schedule and have no idea what to do.
Have you taken algebra1+2? Gotten a B+?
What are the prereq’s for AP Stat at your school, and have you finished those courses with high grades? Do you enjoy math? AP Stat has a reputation for being a middle-of-the-road AP - not insanely hard, but not a total joke like some others. Are you taking another math class? If you aren’t finished through AP Calc, you should be taking a second math class concurrently. What’s the “other advanced class”?
You’re clearly motivated if you’re thinking of taking AP Stat as a sophomore - I haven’t taken it, so I can’t tell you much about the class, but I do know that statistics is a very helpful class for STEM majors, and if you know how to use a graphing calculator (it’s actually not super hard to learn) i’ve heard you should be fine.
If you have a strong math background and have As in all of your math classes, you will do very well in Stats as a sophomore. Just remember, it’ll be a lot of work since it’s another math class.
