How hard is AP stats compared to AP calc. And how hard are the AP tests compared to eachother? I heard that AP stats is reallly easy but i want to hear from people that actually took it. thanks

i didn't take AP Stat, but AP Calc was REALLY easy for me. On Calc AB, i didn't even do most of the free response section and i got a 4. BC is harder, but the curve is more lenient so its really really easy to get a 4 or 5.

at my school, the AP stats class was easy, thus making the test hard.
i took AP calc, which was insanely hard, and then the AP test was a piece of cake.
honestly, i think a better judge of which to take would be which is more closely aligned to your potential major. it doesn't apply to everyone, but in my case, i should have taken stats, because psych requires stats and doesn't care about calc.
however, the reason i took calc was because the calc teacher >>>>> the stats teacher.
take the math that you like the best (if you like either of them) or have a higher aptitude for, if your major doesn't demand one or the other or if you haven't chosen a major yet.

oh, Stats is rediculously easy.

I plan on taking either calc or stats over the summer. So which one should i take? Im going to end up taking both becauise ill take one during the school year, but which one would be the most beneficial to take during the summer?

The AP test for stats is really easy. I think I got a 3 or 4 without any studying. It's been a while so I don't recall what I really got. I didn't take the AP calc test so I can't compare the two, but stats was pretty easy.

AP stat test was a lot easier than the AP (BC) calc test for me.

They are both easy if you are decent at math.

You have to practice calc to do well on the AP test. If you don't do any hw, you should at least go to class. Stats is more memorization.

I thought the Stats test was easier but scored higher on calc AB.

my friend took stats at our CC over the summer, then took calc during the year.
i'd recommend that because as people are saying, stats is easier. it'd be easier to review stats for the AP test than try to relearn calc you took over the summer.
...in my case, i NEEDED that whole sept-may to prep for calc x.x

Oh, and since the TI-83 has all the functions to solve practically every formula that a STATS class throws at you, you pretty much have to at least know which equation to use to score decently.

AP Stats is ridiculously easy as most people say.

One can study 2-3 weeks and easily get a 4 or 5.

Anyone with a strong background in math can get a 3 with 2 days of studying.

Learn the calculator functions, the simple definitions, practice the FRQs, and you're set for a 4 or 5.

Both are fairly easy, although I'll agree with everyone and say if you had to pick one for summer and one for year long it should be Stats for summer and Calc for the year. AP Calc is easy to get a 3 on, practicing actual tests is the most helpful for passing.

Stats=calculator
