So I’m a rising junior, and I just took the AP Stats test online. I’m looking to major in stats in college, but after reviewing my answers, I think I’ll most likely land with a 4, not a 5. My ultimate goal is UPenn, but I’m shooting for T20. Would it be in my best interest to retake the AP Stats test to try for a 5 since it’s my preferred major?
AP scores generally are not considered in the application process. The application consists of so much more than one AP test score. Plus policies for granting credit for AP tests is different from school to school and from major to major that retaking the test would just be a waste of time and money.
I do know of some selective schools that consider AP scores in their admission decision but a 4 on the AP Stats exam will not be a reason for an admission rejection. Not worth retaking since a score of 4 is perfectly acceptable.
