Retaking AP Stat

I got a 4 on stat which I was expecting a 5 since I aced on the final exam (85%, I got the highest score out of all classes and the test was harder than the actual AP) Stat is where I want to major on, and considering that I am an Asian, I am thinking of taking the AP exam again to get a 5. Is it worth it?

I don’t really see how being asian factors into it at all. But, AP scores have no effect on the admissions process. I’d only retake if prospective colleges won’t give you credit for a 4.

OP, don’t take too much pride in “local achievements.” If you’re surrounded by mediocrity, then yes you will probably get the top score. Also, just because your teacher tells you his/her exam is “harder than the AP,” it doesn’t mean he/she is 100% correct. These two benchmarks seem to have given you too much confidence going in the exam, which (I’m assuming) led you to believe that you did not have to study much.

Anyways, for future exams be more humble and do a released AP practice exam (or at least one from a test prep book) to really see where you’re at. And for Stats, I recommend that you don’t retake, because mosttt colleges will definitely credit a 4.
