How are AP tests looked at during admissions? Their site says that they don't really weigh it during the admission process so they don't even require sending them, however they also don't require the SAT II and we all know that you should anyways. I'm going to have a lot of 4's. Will this effect me when comparing myself to others with 5's greatly.

For the record I have great EC's, a good GPA, probably a class rank in the top 5. Do I even stand a chance or would my Class Rank and AP Tests hurt my chances?

Thanks.

My S was quite similiar to you and he was accepted. His EC’s and letters of recommendation were fantastic along with his GPA and ACT

I’m probably going to have to tell each chance-thread-maker individually, but don’t worry about it. I really don’t think Stanford looks at your AP scores. Besides, 4s are satisfactory and the rest of your stats are pretty near perfect.

I just called the admissions office and asked about AP Exam scores and if I needed to send an official score report instead of just self-reporting… the lady said “You don’t need to do that - AP scores are not used in our evaluation process. We just look at the grades you earned in the actual course.”
