Since lots of people discuss scores on here, it seems like they're used in the admissions process. I'm sure it says on some forum here, but after a brief search, I couldn't find the exact policy. Do you have to send the scores in? Can you send some and not others? Does it look bad if you don't send in an AP Exam score for an AP class you took? Do they play a large role in admissions??? How bad are 4s? If you have any idea I would be appreciative of your input, thanks.

I can't answer your question, sorry, but I actually have a similar question: How much does Stanford care about your AP exams after you're admitted? All the APs I'm taking right now won't get credit at Stanford, but I have to take the exams anyway because my school requires them. Does it matter if I blow them off and get 1's on all of them or something? Because I haven't been studying at all... I still have straight-A's in all my classes, but I really have no motivation to study for the exams since I can't get credit for them anyway. I won't get rescinded if I fail all my exams, right? Or would it be better to just cancel the scores rather than have a bunch of bad scores on my record?

when i called the admissions office about the ap tests, they said they only care about them if you want the credit.

if you want the credit, take the test, if not it doesn't matter. so you're ok.

Stanford's AP Policy is right here.

If you want to find out more about AP credit in other schools, just go to your collegeboard account and search the information from other universities. 4's are taken depending on the class that you took, but you could probably only skip a lower level class with a 4.

A question was asked about this at Admit Weekend. For admitted students, a poor AP exam grade will in no way affect your decision, in terms of revoking, etc. You only get into trouble if your grades in the class go down drastically.

how about bad AP scores for new admissions?

You only actually send the scores after you're admitted and decide to go there. You self report on the application, and I don't think you're required to tell them about bad scores.
