this might be a cliche question on CC so sorry about this but...

when applying for colleges, if your school offers only 10 AP's and you take 7 of them will that be better/worse/same in contrast to another school that offers 35AP's and a person takes 20 of them???

AND
i have read some places that AP's are acknowledged for admission but they play a small role when determining admission.. can somebody clarify a bit more.. so do i need to take SAT II's? instead? PLEASE PM ME!

For one thing, I cannot imagine a student who can take 20 APs, logistically, at their high school.

Each student is looked at in the context of what is available at their high school. If you took the most challenging course load available to you, that’s all that matters, regardless of flat number of AP/Honors taken.

Yes, you have to take SAT IIs those are required by many colleges for admissions.

A lot of students don’t even send their AP scores until after they are admitted because they play such a small role in admissions. All that matters is that you took a challenging course load with the options you have available and performed well in those classes.

Only take SATIIs if they are required or recommended for the schools you are applying to.
