AP Tests

Do AP test scores effect a candidate’s admission into the Academy? I just received my AP scores and they’re pretty good, would this improve my chances of gaining admisson? What if a student has good grades and not so ok AP test scores? My friend, who is also applying to an academy, is worried about this because he works so hard in all the other categories.

Admissions may look at them but it is unlikely. If they do, it would probably only be to decide between a few close candidates.
In general don't worry about AP scores too much for the sake of getting in. In fact, the academy frequently doesn't even use the scores to decide if you can validate a class. They have their own tests to decide that.

Point is... AP scores do not matter nearly as much as grades, SAT, ACT, and extracurricular activities. They will definitely not prevent your admission.

some colleges value it, others don't even accept AP credit. your friend should worry about his/her grades and GPA more than the AP test
