I hated the choice of 4 and 5. I chose 5 b/c civil rights was so obvious for the 1950s. I didnt understand why youth was there since I thought that all started in the 1960s and they were tempting me to **** up and put that. I went with intellectual, and <sigh> I tried to angle McCarthyism for ti b/c it was like a new ideology and fear was against the status quo of conformity. How does that sound? By the way, after the civil war, were the republicans in charge?</sigh>

Yes, Lincoln was a Republican as were most of his successors.

pWNAGE! yes, now my essay makes so much sense!

How bad is it for the FR 3 I talk about Spain and how Columbus set up the Columbian Trade, which was a source of their income. I added how St. Augustine was the first European colony that was successful. I also talked about how they converted the "savages" (Native Americans) to Catholicism forcefully as they ventured to the west in search for the three Gs.

Free response 3 was about post-civil war (reconstruction) and the North's agenda with race-relations, westward expansion, etc. I think you're talking about something else.

I did 2 and 4.

I saw prompt 4, and I had the hugest grin. I manhandled that essay.

2 and 3 I was unsure on. I usually try to stay away from colonial essays, due to the lack of any real hard evidence. But then I realized I knew basically nothing about 3. lol. I think I did alright on that one.

The DBQ annoyed me. "Republican Mother" was on the MC, if anyone noticed. The terms are obscure, I've only heard of the first one on a practice test.

Oh...haha...ya 2...:)

the dbq is worth more than the other two fr qs right?

YA...isn't it like double the value, os basically the 2=1 DBQ

No.
DBQ = 45%
FR = 55%

omggggg everybody thought it was easy?!?!?
our class thought it was soo freaking hard.....
the MCs... some of them are kinda hard but overall okay...
but the essays... esp DBQ was crap..... aaaaaah
i really hope i can pull of 3... do u think i have a chance if i did really bad on essays?? lik 4s or 5s...

ya.. lol i did 2 and 4.. which si really weird, cuz most people did 3 and 5.. or 3 and 4.. but nobody did 2.. did anybody else do essay 2?

4s or 5s aren't bad on the essays.

Does anyone have the formula for finding your total combined raw score?

MC high 50's or low 60's
DBQ 4-5 (Didn't entirely address the question)
FR1 7-9
FR2 1-4 (totally wrote about the wrong thing)

Chances for a 4?

MC 50%, DBQ 22.5%, and each FRQ worth 13.75% of total exam grade.

So...

(?/80)(.5)+(?/9)(.225)+(?/9)(.06875)+(?/9)(.06875)=%

...?

And can we assume that the cutoff for a 5 will be around 115 this year? Or will it be higher?

....hmmm
that makes me feel a little better

I'm thinking the cut off will be lower...the test was a LOT harder than last year's.

you know when you get those irrational freakout moments about a test?
Ya, I'm getting one right now. will someone just assure me that FRQ #2 was about the Southwest Spanish colonies and not Florida??
