da**it...i thought so

"Curve might be a little harsher this year, since is seemed to be so easier for a lot people on CC, heres hoping this is not the case around the US"

Keep in mind that people on CC are generally extremely smart...a handful of these people would end up getting a 5 no matter how difficult the test was

people at my school, which is a top public school in the Bay Area, thought it was borderline impossible...
i thought the essays were ridiculously difficult(the time periods were really hard to deal with given the specific topics)...the DBQ was hard, but manageable, and all the multiple choice could be eliminated to two answers...

ustas,

I believe the cartoon is Wilson rallying for the League of Nations after WWI. If you look at the date (1919), and remember that Wilson went on tour by train all over the country trying to gain support for the League of Nations, it comes together. The House and Senate wanted nothing to do with the idea. (America was in isolationist mode from WWI, throughout the 1920s, and until WWII). Wilson is going "to talk to the boss"- the American people.

It also looks like he is struggling with his burden. I believe that he had a stroke (when everyone though the First lady was running the show), and died soon after he went on his speaking tour.

Hope that helps (and I hope that am right).

i thought the mc was a bit easy, but i was like on question 65 when the proctor said we had 10 min left and I was like ****ttt lol. Anyways i think i owned the dbq and the essays werent so bad. Overall, a ton easier than the AP Euro I took last year....

I thought you can get up to a 9 on the free response..or is it 5. I think my sparknotes powerpack book told me wrong or maybe thats just the dbq. I thought I did really well on all the essays..I did 3 and 4. However, now I think I only did mediocre on essay 3 because I mention Marbury vs. Madison..and Plessy vs. Ferguson during the civil war..along with racial tension and expansion crap. What topics did some of you cover for essay 3..it seems like most people did 2 though. I loved essay 1 and 4 tho :).

Lol that cartoon was in the American Pageant. And yes its for the League of Nations.

I thought #5 was 1950s and on.. ):.. well at least thats how I interpreted it. Watch it be wrong now ahhh.

Yeah, I did alright on the DBQ. I'm not sure if I answered all of them, but I answered most of the questions it presented. I'm thinking 6-7, I pulled in about 6 outside facts and used most of the documents. The first FRQ I totally bombed, choice #3. The DBQ just sucked it all out of me, but then I did essay #4 and I did really, really well with that one. The MC, I'l thinking 75-80%.

I did the best on the test in this order: MC, DBQ, and the FRs.

I finished the MC feeling like I didn't bomb it. It was pretty decent. The DBQ I was just like "What the crap! Republican WHAT?!" So I was so panicked and confused that we had to answer 3 different things in that stupid essay that I wrote myself into a corner, and halfway through changed my thesis. I only realized that I had contradicted myself when my proctor yells out "START THE FREE RESPONSES" and I'm like "Oh ****..." Not to mention, I couldn't remember ANYTHING on women's rights especially during the time period mentioned, so my outside information was close to nil and the things I did mention were all BS that I took from some of the MC questions.

It only got better for me. I had screwed myself out of some time for the FR, so I hurry and choose number 3 and 5. It didn't really matter for me, I knew equally nothing about all 4. I was really ed too. My best time period in class was the Progressives but it was leading up to it and not after. All I could think was "Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover"; I decided I couldn't write an essay knowing only three names and nothing else, so I went to the next one for part C and was equally screwed over because my second best history period is the 1960's and 70's and WHAT DID THE TEST ASK ABOUT? The 19 goddamn 50's! I was so so so *ed and ***ed over. My #3 FR was entirely BS, and #5 was a little bit better, but then I realized later that I had put the wrong civil rights thing for it, and I was just like - Well. That's good to know.

When I first started studying for this thing, I was like "I'm getting a 5 so I can laugh at all my friends muahaha!". On the Monday the week before the test I was like "Yeah, well you know, I'll be really happy with a 4." This morning, I open up the DBQ, read the prompt, and promised God that if I got a THREE I'd go to church and become devout.

Bleh. XP

So, if you think you really screwed up on this test, you should feel reassured that I most likely screwed up even more.

^haha thats basically my experience too. I personally enjoyed the whole 40 effin minutes of just filling stuff out.

thanks for your comments satsberrine, interesting...

where in the american pageant is that cartoon? (page # for the new edition? otherwise what chapter?)

I noticed that a number of people are worrying that they incorrectly answered FRQ #5. I'm worrying too, because I supplemented evidence for the '60s to build my essay. But I thought #5 didn't restrict you to talk about one decade like #3; I thought you were supposed to talk about what they wanted. Why can't the '60s illustrate the criticisms of the past time period?

This is exactly what I'm wondering. As long as the information was factual and close to the time period, I don't see why an essay like that couldn't be graded as a 4. Seriously, the Civil Rights Movement is generally discussed in its entirety and really didn't pick up until the 60s. Likewise, Korea didn't experience the same backlash and disillusion from the American people as Vietnam. Can someone put this question to rest please?

does anyone know about cattle ranches?

satsberrine

I was really confident with my MC and 1st Free Response, but the DBQ and my final FR essay were crap. For some reason I wrote abot the populists instead of the progressives. I am totally screwed.

opps, I meant about*

sparetire. thats exactly what I wrote at the end of my essay.

"Dear AP readers, the essay prompt does not (underlined twice!) strictly limit the time period to the 1960s"

Besides, asking to write about the civil rights movement or the youth during the 50s is like asking describe the red scare during the 1940s. I don't think collegeboard will be that desperate to screw us kids.

and I read the entire PR, and if I don't get a 4, I am going to cry.

Eh, I thought it was hard. History pretty much been my weak point this year though.

Predicting a 3, hoping for a.. 5.

We all are, we all are..

seriously though, am i the only one who had trouble with the mc?
