***AP US History Thread 2015-2016***

I really hope they disregard it, but either way my Long Essay was kinda trash

@ushera303 @masquerade98 I might be wrong but I think they just disregard it. I don’t have the rubric with me now (I’m just playing Battlefront all day to celebrate the end of APUSH :P) but I believe that you’re just graded on your correct evidence, so the worst thing wrong evidence could do is that they just won’t count for points in your essay.

@Greninja that makes sense, because I don’t want one wrong fact to screw my overall score up

OMG I cannot believe that I knew the content for the DBQ and Long essay lol. I had a terrible teacher last year for everything through 1890 (I watched Netflix all year). My (wonderful) teacher this year loves the Gilded Age (not sure why lol) and transition to the Progressive Era, so we covered everything from that point to Reagan.

I’m so happy

MC was kinda hard but I liked everything else especially the DBQ. I got so many B’s and A’s on the MC so it makes me feel better that others did too

what’s the percent curve for a five? I know it varies each year but is it usually around 75% correct for the whole exam?

I do not know and I do not care. Whatever you earned, you earned. We will find out in june

Do AP exam readers grade both the FRQ and DBQ one after the other or is it individually graded by separate readers? Anyone know?

I’m pretty sure one group of readers only grade DBQs and another group only grade long essays

So would the APUSH exam be graded on a harder curve depending on how everyone did? For example, if test takers on average did better, would the % correct in order to get a 5 go up to 80-85% versus the traditional 70-75?

@mclaughlinm34 Yes. I wouldn’t have my hopes high for a big curve though, since the exam this year seems a lot easier than last year’s, which was apparently harder than usual

Did anyone here have Form E?

@JoeyPapagobich actually, we find out in July  Haha I guess it doesn’t really matter tho. Anyone here taking the SAT tomorrow?

Sat USH… Where can I find any release exam or good practice test online?

I’m sitting here thinking about the test and it’s all sinking in. I actually did a good job. :open_mouth:

Since my MC answers are lining up with everybody else’s for Form O in terms of how many A’s, B’s, etc., I don’t think I got more than 15 wrong. For the SAQs, I kind of panicked on the last question due to time constraints and probably didn’t explain all I needed to explain, so maybe 10/12. I think I got full credit on my DBQ, but if not, I was close. My LEQ was terribly written, but I still think I covered most parts of the rubric with a 5/6 or so.

I think there’s a good chance I got a 5. For someone who was expecting a 3 and actually fearing failure, I’m so thrilled and proud of myself, especially since this was my first AP exam. I’ll be happy even with a 4. I hope everyone else is feeling as confident as I am!

How harshly are the dbq’s graded? do the graders focus more on elements included in the rubric, or on content? If I wrote a dbq essay and answered the question based on my understanding of the time period, included a thesis, concession, 6/7 of the documents, addressed POV context etc, and included info from other historical areas, attempted a synthesis… but was not entirely accurate in my interpretation of historical events/wrote down a wrong fact, would I still be able to get some points ?

yes I got A’s and B’s a lot as well, thank goodness someone else did too

we included the -Q at the end of the form number right. So 4321-Q was what we wrote in the scantron

If I wrote a two point thesis on the DBQ and LEQ can I get marked down? I had two long body paragraphs.

Teacher here :). All the SAQs will be scored off site this year. That means that each individual question will be scanned into a separate document and pushed out to readers around the country. Last year, we scored on site, but the docs were scanned. Many students messed up the format (answered multiple questions on a single page, etc) and so we had to sort those all out by hand, but we did it. Readers want you to succeed and everyone at CB is looking out for you.
