***AP US History Thread 2015-2016***

@Falconsroach7 I’m not sure if you’re talking about the same SAQ question but if you are, then yeah. It seemed pretty lazy. It could have only been one question rather than three. The DBQ was a godsend for me because I know a lot about the topic. I found the FRQ to be the hardest part because I totally forgot what one of the amendments listed in one of them was and I took more time than I should have on the DBQ and had less time to do the FRQ.

Score estimates?

The test was very simple for me, out of the six (soon to be seven) AP tests I’ve taken its definitely the one I’ve felt the most positive about. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing…

Out of the entire exam I think the hardest part was multiple-choice, which at worst I think I got around 70%. Aside from that, the test was relatively easy but still well-written. I especially liked the DBQ, I never expected College Board to have a whole DBQ around that certain topic but it was really fun and interesting to write about!

Also I don’t know why but I felt so patriotic after the test. =)) I’m low-key sad that I’m done with APUSH.

@FirstGenSloth I’m not in APUSH, but most of the time they’ll give you partial credit if you misinterpret the prompt but write a good essay. At least that’s how it works in world history.

i felt very patriotic throughout the entire test @Greninja

The test was way easier than what I had expected which was really nice! I got the essay topics I had assumed I would get after MC since there weren’t any questions about it.

However for one of my essays, I mixed up FDR and Teddy R and one of their plans of action :(( always getting the two mixed up. Does anyone know how many points are deducted for this type of error?

Otherwise, hoping for a 4/5
;

Also, it seems like a lot of people got a DBQ on feminism (according to the dozens of twitter apush memes about it)
Did anyone else not get that DBQ either?

The AP Board does curve the test based on questions that are first timers and are found to be unfair or not actually testing the knowledge correctly of the test taker. For the test this year, there will most definitely be a curve since it is a redesigned test, just like last year. Nevertheless, the test was pretty straightforward, but the MC surprise me on how many questions were 1950’s and on

I think the test went SO well! Way easier/more broad than I thought it was going to be. I prepared mostly with REA’s Crash Course book which hit on all of the high points I needed for the exam. Highly recommend this prep book to your future APUSHers.
I had form O & received a lot of As and Bs for the too (didn’t count them though). MC was all right (some were pretty trippy), but overall I think I got a majority right. FRQs were SO easy and hit on everything that I was really strong in (except for the first SAQ, but I still think I got by). Wrote like four pages for the DBQ, went a little over into the LAQ time, but I still finished early in total.
I feel like we learned a lot of specifics in class that I didn’t need lol.
In order to keep my hopes down, I feel 100% confident that I AT LEAST got a 4. However, I feel like it is entirely possible that I got a 5, but we’ll see. Now I have to take the SAT II US History exam tomorrow!!!

I got the DBQ on feminism. Even if a person doesn’t know anything about it, the sources made it extremely simple.

@tupac4 @FirstGenSloth @lamebridge @shanabanana1 I’m not the moderator of this forum, but I advise that you don’t speak about specific essay topics on the exam.

@Shreyas0718 I wasn’t sure if it really counted because it’s not like we were specific.

MC was kinda difficult. SAQ was easy. FRQ were even easier. Hopefully got a 5. [-O<

@lamebridge Same here. After Session 1 I sort of knew what the FRQ’s were gonna be on. =))

Can anyone give an estimate on how low a MC score could go before dropping out of 5 territory if the SAQs were perfect, the DBQ was a 6/7, and the LEQ was a 5/6? Thanks.

i am sad that apush is over. sad.

I was actually kind of surprised at the choice of the DBQ, given the complaints that TCB got last year about Reagan conservatism being so close to the end of the course. I expected something from the middle of the course, not what we got.

How much is it gonna affect my score if I said the US joined the Leage of Nations (which it didn’t) in the Long Essay?

I’m not sure how they grade the essays actually. Do they just disregard any incorrect evidence you give them or do they actually take points off? Anyone know?
