If I am scoring 5's and 6's on my DBQs and Free-Response Questions, and I have been scoring constantly around 45/80 on the M.C., what do you think I will score on the AP test on a five point scale????

i'd guess around a three.

whats average as far as the multiple choice goes...how many do you have to get right to get a 5?

average 5 gets about 80% correct

my sparknotes study guide said i was destined for a solid 4. whats up with that?

I'm going to say that if you want a 5, you're going to need to at least score a 60. After that, you're probably going to need running 7-8-9's on the essays. The MC composite is multiplied by 1.125. If you were to get 60 right and 20 wrong, you're composite would be 55 (*1.125) and that would total about 62 in your score. The MC is 50 percent, generally speaking US History's cut off for a 5 is usually between 115-120. If you got 62 points out of the MC which is 50 percent of the test, you would need about 60 more points. This would provide you get about 70 percent of the remaining 90 points. I'm pretty sure 7-7-7 would get you a 5. So least case scenario 60 right on MC, and 7-7-7 would be my guess.

If it's a good year, a 3. Try to aim for solid 7's at least and 70+/80 for a solid 5.
