oh my god!!!! AP classes are soooo american! yes, shallow american classes, they are! IB is soooooo much better and harder than the average AP class. jeez- is there any question in your mind as to which is better? I can't believe it.

WHO THE HELL CARES WHICH IS BETTER? GO GET A LIFE

In my case, IB is the better choice at my school because IB and AP are basically integrated. Yes, it's extra work, but it's the closest to middle ground you'll get.

The "community service requirement" for IB is slightly deceptive, it's actually called CAS for "Creativity, Action, and Service" and you must have a certain number of hours in each aspect.

I did not have to "sell my soul" to IB mainly because I always integrated it with other interests. My CAS hours came directly out of activities I would have done anyway (ie: tutoring, choir, band/orchestra).
Even my extended essay was an application of research I did for a longer paper I wrote for a college class I took.

~There is an "international outreach" requirement for CAS

"~There is an "international outreach" requirement for CAS"

really, i didnt know about that. i mean i would've fulfilled it anyway, but our school never informed us about it.

"Do you have to pay for IB exams?"

yes, and they're just as costly if not more costly than AP exams (it also varies depending on diploma/certificate). the students at my high school hates this aspect because the IB club makes everyone sell candy to help fundraise and offset the expensiveness of IB exams.
