AP vs Rising Scholars.

I am a sophomore who signed up to take AP US government next year. The class did not have enough participants, so it was cancelled. I was recently told that I could take the Rising Scholars US Government course next year instead. A Rising Scholars course is one taught on my high school campus, but with a college professor and at a college level. It is similar to a dual credit course. Would it look worse on a colllege application for me to take Rising Scholars Government instead of AP government in terms of rigor and competitiveness? My other option would be to wait for my senior year in order to try to take AP Government but it would get rid of the opportunity to take a different year long course and there is still the chance it would not be offered the next year (the last two years it wasn’t).
Note: The only AP classes that my school offers are AP World History, AP Government, AP Psychology, and AP Chemistry. I have plans to take all of them. Everything else is Rising Scholars or honors (pretty much my entire schedule the next two years).

Thanks in advance for the help.

I think the majority of colleges won’t hold it against you if you aren’t able to take an AP that isn’t offered at your school. The Rising Scholars class definitely sounds like a good alternative, and then you can decide whether to take AP government or another class in your senior year (depending on whether it’s available). If you’re concerned about never taking AP gov though, you could always self study for the exam.
