So next year I am taking AP Government, but I’m starting to think it was a mistake. On the 2018 AP test only 2 people passed the AP test in my school, and they only scored a 3. Also, I’ve heard that AP is easier than our honors government course. The honors government class has summer assignments and the AP government class doesn’t which I think is abnormal. I think maybe I should switch to honors government but then it won’t look like I took the most rigorous courses in my school. Plus, I’m not sure if I am even able to switch now. Any advice on what I should do?
I would maybe talk to the people who took the class or email your counsellor or teacher about this, they would know best. Personally AP gov was my easiest class and my easiest 5 (it’s even offered as a freshman class at my school). If your school allows you to drop down to honors during the school year then maybe take AP to test the waters and drop down to honors. In the end your school would know best about the course material maybe even get a syllabus if possible or start some mild studying over the summer? Best of luck.
I took AP Gov this year and they’ve changed the format of the test which has actually made it easier. I haven’t taken any other AP class but it seems like the easiest test according to other people.
I’d stick with the AP class and get a review book to use to study for the exam.
