Are there any similarities between AP test and subject test? And are they similar in the level of difficulty?

I’ve heard that they’re about the same but that the Subject Tests might test on materials that aren’t taught on the AP curriculum and vice-versa. Also. Imost Subject Tests are all multiple choice while AP’s have free-response essays, and what not.

I’ve heard however that it’s easier to get a 5 on an AP exam than it is to get an 800 on a subject test.

I heard that there is more information tested for the AP than SAT.

For some subjects (such as US History), the information is extremely similar when comparing the multiple choice portions of each exam.
