If you prepare for the AP test well, the subject test shouldn’t be hard. For history, I have taken practice tests for both (I take both the subject and AP in May) and the subject test seems easier. The questions are a lot more straight forward than on the AP test. As for Spanish, I have a friend who took both and got a 5 on the AP and a 720 on the subject test. But she didn’t study for the subject test… so I don’t know. And physics, I have no idea. Good luck!

I agree! for me, the AP tests are harder than the SAT subject tests

This is a good question. I’ve also been wondering. Is that the trend for all subject tests/AP exams?

Well, first off AP’s have essays. Math oriented APs (Physics) make you calculate complex problems with space to show work and any possible explanations.

Plus, the MC’s in AP’s are harder. Even though both tests test similar knowledge, the AP’s tend to be more indirect and somewhat trivial (only some).

I don’t think so
I took the AP world history and the MC section seemed WAY easier in comparison to the SAT Subject test in world history.
There seemed to be much more detail covered in the subject test, or at least stuff that the AP part did not seem to include at all.
But maybe that’s just me.
