I'm an incoming freshman at a pretty good public high school, and since I've already taken a bunch of honors courses through an online school and done well on the SAT + ACT, I'm gonna be accelerated next year and do:

H.Calc
AP Lang
AP Chinese
AP Chem
Either AP World His or AP Human Geo

I've heard that Human Geo is a "fluffy" course, and that colleges don't really look at it. It's also the only AP with mostly freshmen and so I would be able to "interact with my peers" (quoting my counselor here).

But I also don't want to overextend myself- I know the Chinese and Chem will be a lot of work. I also do an EC for 3+ hours a day (although I can cut back on it). If the class isn't very useful, I don't want to waste my time with all the "busy work".

The school is OK with me doing either, and my parents don't care. Running out of classes is not a problem.

Take AP geo… You’ve got a really demanding schedule already. It would probably be a good idea to get to know your peers. It’ll be upperclassmen in all the other classes you’re taking. Remember to make time for EC’s!:)

If your planning to take the AP exam, take Geography. I’m taking AP World This year as a sophomore. You might have a hard time with the AP World exam because of the 3 different essays. :P

You could self study Human and take World at your school. I’m currently self studying human as a junior.
But if you don’t want to overwhelm yourself, just take human at school

Both Human and World are totally useless APs in the big scheme of things, so take whichever one you want. Btw, AP Human is offered to students in our school of the lowest caliber, and I mean kids who literally have F’s in math and have trouble counting. It’s easy.
