Okay so I'm self studying for world history and psych.. and i know that a lot of people study for psych, so i'm not that worried about it.

as for world history though, i started reading the book and it said "do not use this as your 'textbook'...yadda yadda. it should be a review!" i took the class last year and so i started to freak hahaa.

for anyone who has taken it (and possibly even self studied for it :o), how would you recommend studying for it?

ive taken it. Impossible, nuff said. The questions were like "How does Rome in the whatever century's economy compare to teh economy of the Qing Dynasty in China". Why any1 would self study this test is beyond me

I duno though it might've been my teacher too. We weren't taught and i didnt really study outside of class. If you like world history u can probably do it, it has a nice curve. I hated world history lol

i like it (a lot more the us history, hence why i'm not taking apush)... but i'm just concerned with the fact that 1) my teacher last year didn't teach.. lol and 2) i probably don't remember anything..

That sounds like an easy question, kevinscool. Also, that "textbook" thing is a lie. AMSCO says the same thing for its APUSH book, and everyone who reads it gets a five.

My AP world teacher has issues too, he means well, but we skipped India and China, and sort of bounce around haphazardly, learning about whatever he feels like, so I have a lot of outside studying to do as well. I have the 5 steps to a 5 book, and its okay, but I will probably buy another one as well..

It probably is a easy question if our teacher taught. And yes i totally agree reversepysch, i hated how my teacher bounced btw time periods and regions so randomly. But yes i agree the textbook thing is a lie in someways. I got a 4 in AP bio by skimming teh cliffnotes book, when the book says its suppose to be a review

Questions like that are really easy if you have a halfway decent teacher or you actually studied..

IM SELF STUDYING TOO! I'm using the barron's atm. And pretty much here's my plan -->

1.) Finish reading barron's pages of text in 4 weeks (100 each week)
2.) Go over flash cards/websites to review and go into slight detail
3.) Read once again (at faster pace) the barron's textbook.
4.) Practice DBQs, essays, etc individually
5.) Look at several sources, take practice tests, and get ready for a 5!

Approximate Hours/Day--> roughly one hour, not necessarily every day either
Number of Months/Days--> 3 months- 3.5 months for complete confirmation on a 5 =D

And in response to some questions, I am on chapter like 8 on barrons, and I can already make so many connections, because first of all, the barrons book itself makes connections and its organization is perfect for memorization and analysis. If you wanna like quiz each other or sumtin. Or if u wanna share some websites or sources you found email me at gunsagargulati@yahoo.com/email

barrons is nice and all but its a supplement to the real textbook .. i definitely wouldnt have done well with just the barron's book... as far as essays go, there is no "studying" for the dbq because its supposed to be based on the documents...it will help if you have knowledge and facts about the topic but isnt necessary

many students find the compare/contrast essay hard because they'll give you two random places and two random time periods ... making timelines of each region in the world helped me with this essay
