AP World History Self-Studying

Hi, everyone. I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’ve just recently started self-studying for the AP World History exam. This will be my very first AP test, not including AP Environmental Science, which I’m also self-studying for. Anyhow, I’m planning on reading through the Princeton Review guide three times in total, as well as the entirety of Barron’s twice. Are there any self-studiers out there who have some tips on how to get a 5? Will I need anything else besides the PR and Barron’s books? I’m familiar with the FRQ formats, so I’m not too concerned about those at the moment. If you can offer any suggestions on how to self-study, I’d be grateful! Thanks!

Hello! I also self-studied for the AP world history exam! I used both PR and Barron’s, and I found Barron’s to be more helpful (so maybe read Barron’s 3 times and PR twice?) Make sure you don’t over study or tire yourself out! You should be okay self studying as long as you read and remember facts; taking notes/rewriting/making charts of events and time periods helped me!

Okay great, thank you so much! I’ll change my schedule to fit in Barron’s three times. Very reassuring to hear!

@cjjc256 this is a good idea! I am taking the class right now, and it is boring. All I do to learn is my princeton review and my textbook, nothing else. So, I think you will do fine (but, next year they are changing the format of how the exam goes, so do study and take it this year).

Ah, good to know! Thank you!!
