AP world history SOS! online materials?

hi guys it's me again. this time it's about AP world. i'm having a HUGE test this Friday, and i am no where close to being prepared for it. it covers 5 chapters in my tb called "world civilizations the global experience 4thED". it's by peter stearns if that helps. i'm having trouble with this book cuz it's SOOOOOO boring. therefore i'm wondering if there's an alternative to studying directly from it.

is there a good world history online site that i can use? my teacher was a grad from UPenn (lol) and he likes to lecture a LOT. it's hard to not snooze. so i need something more interesting to read from and to learn from. any thoughts?

Did you check the website of the book you have? Usually there are condensed, easier to understand outlines of the chapter, along with interactive applications that you may find more beneficial.

It's usually not a good idea to use a general website for a history course unless your teacher approves it because dates and material vary so much by book and edition.

weird we use the same boring book...

LOL I have the SAME exact book too. It's so boring since our teacher forces us to read like 4-5 pages a day reading stuff that sounds jibberish in my head. Have to read a chapter per week. Same exact reason why I hate reading it so most of the time I just like skim through the boring parts. Took my 1st test on chapters 1, 2, 3 last Wednesday and got a 33%..class average was a 67%. Oh well what can you do, its AP..I am a freshman by the way.

Yeah...all the Stearns book gives you is a short list of external websites at the end of every chapter that cover highly specific topics. Not exactly helpful.

Oh, for the days of my APUS textbook and its beautiful, interactive website...

"Oh, for the days of my APUS textbook and its beautiful, interactive website..."

Which website was that? That sounds interesting!

I am taking the same class, and itrs been a lot of work...taking notes on all the chapters will take you hours.. it is a better solution to go into the ap world history webpage and read the notes as well as taking the quizzez to see if your prepared

Although it's ok to read the notes from an internet page, it's much better to do your own notes and read the textbook (even though it takes a lot of time) because when it comes to the unit exams you will end up failing this exam and the class.

I took AP World last year and we used that exact same book. My class was really easy because all we did during class was take notes, and the teacher would take all the test questions from the notes. I ended up making a 5 on the exam with minimum effort. We never had to read a single page of the book.

that was how it was like last yr when i had APUSH...i miss it now b/c it was an easy A and i learned a lot still

Weird, I thought everyone used the same textbook but apparently not. I use the Bulliet book; but don't go buy it, most people find it boring too.

Use a study book like Barron's, Princeton's, Kaplan's to name a few of the best.
