@TP2000 thank you!! he gave us the Princeton review so hopefully I can manage with that.
I’m so screwed for this test…I’ve accepted I’m gonna fail this whole thing.
@TP2000 @Ahmeda14960 @thefloridavegan
I’m freaking out because for the past few days getafive isn’t working for me… Every time i enroll, there is an error. What should i do?
I had a horrible teacher for AP world. In fact, the pass rate at our school last year was only 4%. Only 7/180 students passed. The two AP teachers are lazy; all their quizzes and tests can be found on quizlet (the answers word to word) because they don’t even make their own! Last year I had APUSH and the teacher was great, and I’d read the text book and he’d make the tests really challenging. However, I found it pointless to read the textbook this year. I tried reading a few chapters, but I’d forget everything I read in one week due to the fact that my teacher did little to reinforce our memory of the material. His power points were of little use to me. Eventually, I gave up (I’ve only read about 10 of the 38 chapters). After reading up advice, I’m really hoping that a combination of Princeton Review, barrons book + flashcards, 5 steps to a 5, crash course, and getafive.com will get me at least a 4. I took a practice test (before starting to study AP) and I got about 50%. I know DBQ shouldn’t be hard because you don’t really need much prior knowledge for those, but I’m worried about the other two FRQs. We’ve barely practiced any essays throughout the whole year, probably like 4 DBQ, 1 comparative and 1 change over time. I’m probably just gonna look over the rubrics for those. Anyone have some last minute advice?
Yes, it’s giving me an error too! I hope they fix it asap so that I can get started!
errors here too @heba165 my world teacher isnt good but my us history teacher was . :((
@Ahmeda14960 same! My APUSH teacher was amazing!
@bummybears I checked right now, and getafive is still working for me.
On Saturday my teacher gave us the released 2007 exam to take.
I think I did pretty well:
59/70 on the MC
6/9 on the DBQ
5/9 on the CCOT
7/9 on the CC
Overall: 5
I still have to review unit 6, but I think that I’m pretty prepared for the AP test.
@bummybears @Ahmeda14960 it’s working now. Happy reviewing (((:
@TP2000 I asked my teacher if he had any released exams and he said he only has practice ones. I’m so mad ugh!! Time to confront him lol
@TP2000 Which one is Unit 6?
@TP2000 You are very well prepared. The online calculator says that a 55/70 MC and 3 5 5 For FRQs is still a five. .
Does anyone know which dates we need to memorize?
I took the APWH test last year as a freshman, and don’t worry, it was a breeze. My World History teacher was great, though if you’re going by test scores she has a 4% average for 5’s. All I did was use Princeton Review and do practice multiple choice questions on website called learnerator. As long as you know the general concepts for each time period in each place you’ll be fine (it seems like a lot, but it really isn’t).
EDIT: I also got a 5, if you were wondering.
@Heba165 thanks!
@TP2000 thanks!
@Ahmeda14960 Unit 6 covers the time period of 1914-Present
@Heba165 My teacher has all of the released WHAP exams, which are from 2002, 2007, and 2015.
We started taking the released exam from 2015 in class today, and the MC was much easier than the 2007 version. It makes sense, because to get a 5 on the 2015 test, a student needed an 85/120. To get a 5 on the 2007 test (the one on APpass), a student would need a 76/120.
@TP2000
The exam was redesigned in 2011. Use versions after that to see how well you would do on the real exam.
@Ahmeda14960
No thats because that curve was from an old exam. The World history exam was redesigned in 2011 and the curve got much tougher. About 85/120 raw points are required to get a 5.
@YoLolololol The curve is slightly different every single year. I don’t think that the curve actually got higher, the 2015 test was just easier than the 2007 test. The curve in 2002 was 81/120, the curve in 2007 was 76/120, and the curve in 2015 was 85/120.
I found out the curves for the 2007 and 2015 tests from my teacher, who has the released exams, and the formulas to calculate what a student will get according to his/her scores.
Plus, I scored a 91/120 on my practice test, so it doesn’t really matter which curve I am looking at, because I scored above what I needed to in all of them.
