Any current or former student NOT living in dorms know anything about the apartments around town? I just signed a lease at Arlington Farm and am now worried it was a mistake! But I’m always skeptical.

Before making any decision around Davis, whether it is where to live, where to eat or even where cleanest bathroom is (there is an actual page for this), always consult daviswiki.org

That was already done.

I already signed the lease. I had to make a quick decision because everything was getting filled up. Arlington Farm seemed nice when I looked. I saw daviswiki before but I didn’t scroll through all the comments. After I picked Arlington Farm I looked at the rest. Plenty of negative reviews but that can always be people who had a bad experience. How many people do you know that write a review about the apartments the love?

Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone had experience with the place…

I lived at the Willows, which was also owned by Tandem Properties. I never had a bad experience with them. There were a lot of negative reviews about that apartment, but I don’t see how people could be so negative about it! The only problem I had was that it was SO expensive, but everything’s expensive in Davis.

There’s a bike path that runs right alongside Russell, which makes for about a 10-minute bike ride to campus. On rainy days, or whenever you feel too lazy to bike, the D and the K bus lines will take you to campus for free.

Thanks! There are a lot of bad reviews. I will be on the East side so it shouldnt be too bad, but now I’m woried about mold and bugs and whatever. I guess I’ll either renew my lease or I wont.

Meh, all apartments suck in some way or another. Mine has plumbing issues, a minor leak that was fixed, painted toilet seats and light switches, and a seriously grungy exterior. (It’s Alvarado Sunset.)
