Hi all! My original plan for senior year was to take AP Biology but unfortunately not enough people signed up for the class so it was cancelled. In search for another AP science course, I choose APES because the material seems interesting and I heard a lot of positive things about the class, except that I really do not like the teacher. The only thing is, I would like to become a doctor and I know that med school pre-reqs call for at lease a year of physics plus its also on the MCAT. Would I do well enough to get into med school in physics classes if I have never taken any physics prior to college? I am also not the best at math but I am going to have to know it anyways in order to get into med school so should I just take on the challenge senior year and possibly jeopardize my chances of admission with a low grade in AP Physics or go into college level physics with no prior knowledge? I need to take an AP class to show rigor so regular physics is not an option. I will be taking pre-calc next year as well. Sorry for a lot of rambling but any help is much appreciated!

by the way my school is not offering honors physics next year

AP Physics B is being split up into AP Physics I and AP Physics II, so keep that in mind. According to two AP veteran teachers the test will either be unreasonably rigorous, with a generous curve as a result( another reason is that the only review material would be from AP Physics B), or simplistic with a harsh curve. There seem to be a lot of variables, if you ask me. On the other hand, you have APES which is normally considered one of the easiest APs. With you in mind, both teachers continually say that Physics requires a strong math background in Algebra and some in Geometry so that may make it more difficult than it already is. If you are willing to not give into senioritis, AP Physics would certainly be a better fit for your plan, if not APES is a free GPA booster as you relax.
