APEX scholar

What do you think about this summer program? Do you think it will help someone in college admissions? If a student has participated in this program, do you think he or she has a chance to get into a competitive college?

Hellousdad,
This is an excellent program. It doesn't matter if it will help someone in college admissions- if someone you know has the opportunity to go, it means they are already talented and committed. Don't participate in this program just for college application status; do it for the experience. But if someone is selected for this program, that in and of itself probably means they have a good chance to get into a competitive college.
Do you know someone who has participated?

Is there any way to participate in the APEX Scholar program without being previously selected as a Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar?

Willow:

I know someone who has attended the program. I am just curious as they are so many kids who get rejected.

Tokenadut:
I have no way to tell you as I have not much info about it.

Tokenadult,
As far as I know, you have to be a Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar to participate.

Hellousdad,
I, too, know some participants. I'd be curious to know what your "contact" thought of the experience, if you'd be willing to share.
