it suprises me how many of you harvard-aspirees don't even have the polical background and history to realize that hillary clinton will not be president in 2008 because she is a WOMAN.

To say obama, nevertheless, will become president is just pure ignorance. best luck in community college!

Is it that you don't want her to become President as a woman? Or is it that you just don't think she will? Your wording and your attitude suggest two different things. Please clarify.

iamstupid, youre making me embarrassed to be a republican. the reason obama wouldnt win is because hes a first term senator- though he may have done some stuff, he wouldnt have done all that much at a high level. it is NOT because he is black! remember the buzz around colin powell possibly running back in 96? every poll had him winning, and had he run, he probably would have won.

as for hillary, she wont win because shes a northern liberal with the last name of "Clinton," a name much of the country has heard more than enough of. it is, again, NOT because she is a woman, it's because shes damaged goods.

assuming mccain makes it past the primaries (i wonder if a more conservative candidate could pull it out, i.e. bill frist), he will likely win the presidency, since about 70% of the country loves him, no matter who he runs against.

he's reformed some judicial policies? please. come back to me in 30 years when he's ready to be President. If he is at all. But there is no debate over this, because he's done nothing.

OK. And Hillary cannot run. Democrats will lose. Not just because she's a woman, but because even New Yorkers hate her guts.

And John Edwards...don't even get me started on that green little toddler.

I make you this promise, though. If McCain gets the Repub nom (which he won't, but if he does), I will vote Democrat. I care not, not even if it's Hillary running against McCain. I will never vote for McCain.

Basically, to boil it down to one post instead of three days, lol...I find him to be a complete mercenary. I have a feeling he's going for maverick but he comes off as pandering, and doesn't realize that the Democrats' apparent love for him will turn in a second if he ever runs for anything major.

I disagree,as an ardent liberal I would chose McCain over Hillary any day because I know that he is a wise voice of moderation and he is not divisive

iamstupid- i think maybe one person in the entire thread has said obama could win. the fact is, he wouldnt, and he wont even run. the problem is that you claim that his race is a factor and fail to address the holes in ur argument. the same applies to hillary- few think she'll win, but if she loses, its not because shes a woman, its because shes HILLARY dammit.

"elevenbanks you are a retard. you honestlt thik obama or hillary clinton can become president? You are the stupidest person I've ever met then. I'l be laughing when you go to you Asuza Pacific University because you got deferred everywhere. Either that, oryou'll commit suicide because you're just another white preppy who doesn't get laid."

Well, iamstupid, I think you're a pompuous jerk. You don't know ANYTHING about politics. If anyone is stupid enough to think that Condi Rice, or Juliani, or Powell will beat democrats in 08, they're sadly mistaken. Democrats understand people, while Republicans try to suck the life out of them. I pray to God and Mary that the world never falls under any kind of influence exerted by your sad self. I don't know why you're posting on this harvard board. didn't you hear? Harvard only accepts people with genuine intelligence and compassion for the things. you, however, make rascist and sexist comparisons, and I hope that you either fail out of college or just simply join a cult where people pretend to like you. "a white preppy who doens't get laid." wow, that was brilliant. are you going into journalism?

elevenbanks-I'm a Democrat, but also something of a realist. It's clear (to me at least) that the Dems have an uphill battle for '08 election. Bush's win in '04 wasn't a landslide, but it was much more solid than '00. The possible Democratic candidates ARE young, inexperienced + rather controversial, while the possible Republican candidates are experienced, moderate, and palatable. You can call me "sadly mistaken," but I think I'm being realistic.

In addition, calling Republicans life suckers is really immature. If Democrats really "understood people," why is Washington dominated by Republicans right now? Democrats are out of touch, unorganized, and off message. The party isn't dead, but there's a lot of work to be done between now and '08.

^ sounds like a reasoned argument to me. Nice work. It's nice to see that some Democrats are analyzing where they went wrong, instead of just blaming the other party.

wow, way to have faith in the party justforgetme. I know it's a bit of dreaming, but that's how people win. I made that comment about blood sucking republicans, because A. most of them are, and B. I don't like this iamstupid loser. And I agree, Hillary is not black.

And if you just "have faith in the party," instead of looking at what's wrong and trying to fix it...well, let's just say that that's not exactly a recipe for sucess.

then again, john edwards ran as a first term senator, and he nearly won the nomination. So Obama in '08 isn't TOO farfetched. A lot can happen in 4 years.

A glance down iamstupid's other posts will show that he regularly posts insensitive, illogical, and arrogant contributions. I wouldn't mind him. It's probably the high point of his day.
