Appeal for Fall Quarter

Hello everybody, I have recently filed for an appeal on my rejection (Columbus Campus) at Ohio State. My original application was rejected with a 3.4 GPA/25 ACT. I am aware that I will be unable to attend Main Campus the first quarter, but am curious to know what my minimum ACT score should be in order to qualify for acceptance come fall. I re-took ACT in April and recieved a 29 Composite and am reconsidering taking it again in June in order to better my chances. Any advice on what to do?

Hello. I visited OSU this past week and an admissions counselor said that their average ACT score for the class of 2015 was a 28. So…you were more than likely origionally rejected due to that 25. I also don’t believe appealing your admissions decision is going to help you any due to the fact that all ACT scores needed to be in the admissions office by February 1st and that they weren’t taking anymore ACT/SAT scores after that date. The admissions counselors also told me that this year has been one of the hardest classes for them to admit. VERY competitive this year, so I’m pretty sure they’ll stick with their origional admissions decision for you with no wiggle room. Best of luck! If they take your 29 from this past ACT you took, then awesome, but the chances are slim to none. I reccomend you don’t waste your time (or money) on another ACT.

So even if I were to file the appeal for the winter quarter (I made a typo in my first post saying I was trying to be reconsidered for fall quarter) they wouldn’t consider the 29?

winter quarter changes everything! haha. I’d call them if I were you and find out. You might get farther considering winter quarter isn’t the competitive quarter to apply for.
