I am a freshman that just finished fall semester and is looking to transfer back down to Southern Cali, after attending one semester up in the bay. CSULB has been my dream school because of their amazing nursing program and was denied after senior year. growing up, my father had trouble with substance abuse since i was very little but didn’t really have an effect on the family until he had a heart attack due to his habits. Basically it was a wake-up call, and he said he will quit. But once 2017 came around, my father lost his job in January and now were having trouble with paying for my schooling bc our financial aid got denied and living in the bay is way to expensive. My dad relapsed on his drug/alcohol habit and now is showing signs of shock (bells palsy) and i would want to stay close to home to check up on him because he was also diagnosed with severe depression and is feeling suicidal at times.
Do you think i would be accepted if i were to Appeal? the school does not accept lower division transfers but i am a pre-nursing/undeclared student and all my classes are set for transfer, and I got all A’s and 1 B my first semester. I am also planning to attach the hospitalization bill, diagnosis of his depression and bells palsy, and income.
Thank you so much.
