Appeal?

Hey guys,
So I recently got waitlisted at UCSC and UCD. Also, I got rejected from UCSD.
I really want to appeal for UCSC but I need some help on how long the letter should be, what should I include, basically anything to help strengthen my chances of getting in! I plan on writing my appeal letter on how I applied under Computer Science, but want to be reevaluated under Chemistry. My sister goes to SC too so I'm going to mention how I sat in one of her classes and loved it! I also don't know whether to get a letter of rec from my calculus teacher or from my government teacher who went to Santa Cruz.
Here are my stats:
UC GPA: 3.7
ACT: 26
AP CHEM: 4
SAT II CHEM: 720

Any input would really help,
Thanks!

Okay so, I have a friend who was rejected from UCSC when he applied for Computer Science: Game Design. He appealed. Denied again. After all that mess they actually extended an offer of admission to him after the decision date, because I guess fewer people had decided to join the program than expected. Don’t lose hope!

I could be wrong, but I think Chemistry is also a fairly crowded major. I know there’s a lot of trouble with getting into the intro to chem class sequence. Anyhow, you can try asking over here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/252923218131920</a>, we’ve got a couple bio/chem majors who should be able to confirm/deny that.

Other than the possible change of major, it sounds like you’ve got a very good plan for the appeals letter. :)
